The rich inheritance of justice, liberty, prosperity and independence, bequeathed by your fathers, is shared by you, not by me.

Semiquincentennial Celebration - 250 Years in the Making

In 2026, the United States marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. While the original declaration did not extend its promised freedoms to many minority groups, the nation’s journey over the past two and a half centuries reflects ongoing progress toward the equality it envisioned.

AAHM invites you to honor and celebrate the achievements, resilience, and contributions of African Americans as we commemorate this historic milestone. Join us throughout the year as we recognize 250 years of movement toward justice and inclusion.

Check back soon for upcoming Semiquincentennial events.
