We invite the community to join us for the Closing Ceremony of the city-wide commemoration of the 1908 Race Riot. This gathering marks the conclusion of a series of events dedicated to remembrance, reflection, and education about the lives impacted, the history that shaped our city, and the ongoing pursuit of justice and reconciliation.
During the ceremony, the winners of the “3 Hot Days in August” Essay Contest will be announced, and their essays will be shared through live readings.
Refreshments will be provided by the Springfield Branch NAACP.
