WHAT
The Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) will celebrate Black History Month with a program honoring both the State’s 200th birthday and the 50th Anniversary of the 1968 Civil Rights Act. The program will focus on commitment to fairness, equality, and non-discrimination.
The event will feature a Keynote by Teresa Haley from the Springfield Chapter of the NAACP and a performance by Kathryn Harris as Harriet Tubman.
In addition, a limited number of information tables will be available during event focused on creating awareness about local resources and organizations.
