Eva Carroll Monroe and the Lincoln Colored Home
This webinar will be about the documentary film “Eva Carroll Monroe and the Lincoln Colored Home” created in 2020 by Mary Frances. Mary will talk about Eva’s parents, husbands, and daughter and highlight significant events in their lives spanning Reconstruction and Jim Crow. She will then present Eva’s life work at the Lincoln Colored Home in Springfield and explain how Eva’s civic engagement empowered her to achieve her professional goals. Finally, she will cover how Eva became an invalid later in life and how she spent her final years.
