Frederick Douglass, during his visit to Springfield in April 1866, honored President Lincoln in a speech entitled, “The Assassination and its Consequences”.  Added to this speech are excerpts from the three Reconstruction Amendments with impact on liberty, and excerpts covering the United States Colored Troops who fought in the Civil War.Bob Davis, Civil War reenactor and historian, will deliver this speech.
